Consultations If you are a member of the MIT community, you are welcome to make an appointment at any time to talk to a member of the Center for Work, Family & Personal Life on any parenting, family or work/life matter.
Consultations are:
Polly Smith
As Administrator of Child Care Initiatives, Polly is available to discuss issues relating to MIT's child care centers, including Technology Children's Centers, Lincoln Laboratory Children's Center, and the MIT Child Care Scholarship Programs.
Kathy Simons
As Manager of Work/Life and Child Care Initiatives, Kathy is available to discuss issues related to finding and using child care, including evaluating quality, research on the effects of child care on children, finding affordable care, and whether and when to make a change.
Kathy is also available to meet with MIT staff regarding job flexibility and the development of alternative work proposals.
Rae Simpson
As Program Director for Parenting Education and Research, Rae is available to discuss issues involved in parenting and family life, such as child development, adolescence, separation and divorce, adoption, multilingual and multicultural issues, giftedness, special needs, and children's education.
Rae is also available to meet with MIT faculty members regarding integrating family and academic careers and related issues.
