Retirement

Retirement planning is important for all MIT employees at all stages of their lives and their careers — not just for those nearing retirement. MIT offers a variety of programs to assist you with your savings and retirement goals. The smart choices you make today in planning for the years ahead will have a significant impact on both your timeline for retirement and the financial resources  you will have to draw on when you do retire. And that time could be closer than you think. At MIT, you can retire as early as 55, if you meet specific guidelines.

The retirement pages of this website include two types of resources — resources for those who are engaged in long-term retirement planning and resources for those who are getting ready to retire. There is a wealth of information available online, including links to other helpful resources. You also can schedule a one-on-one meeting for retirement counseling.
