Our Policies about Seminars and BriefingsAll seminars and briefings are free of charge.
Registration is required so that we can plan appropriate seating and notify you in the event of a room change or last-minute cancellation.
Eligibility to attend: Seminars and briefings are open to the entire MIT community, including students, staff, faculty, retirees, alumni, and their families. Some seminars are open to the public. Contact the Center to find out if a particular seminar has space for non-MIT participants. Briefings are open to the MIT community only.
A few seminars have limited enrollment to allow for group discussion. Check individual seminar listings for details, and register early to avoid being placed on a waiting list.
Although many seminars run from 12-1:30PM, those participants with restricted lunch hours or other commitments are welcome to leave earlier.
Child care: We regret that we cannot accommodate children in seminars or provide child care for our seminars. We can, however, assist you in finding someone to care for your child while you attend a seminar. Contact the Center for details. We can generally accommodate children at child care briefings, provided you take responsibility for their care.
Bringing lunch: For seminars and briefings held in Room 16-151, participants are welcome to bring their own food; beverages and cookies will be provided by the Center. When seminars are held in other rooms, food policies vary. Contact the Center for further information.
