MIT has organized a range of programs to support you in every area of your life and to help you plan for the unexpected.
Keep in mind that you must enroll in benefits programs within your first month on the job, so the sooner you review your options the better!
Visit the Multimedia Benefits Quickstart or download this handy overview (PDF) to get details on the key benefits that MIT offers and who is eligible to receive them.
Here you will find answers to questions about your eligibility for benefits as well as a link to benefits counselors.
Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) offer you a way to set aside funds—tax free—to pay for medical or dental expenses not covered by insurance. MIT also offers FSAs to help you manage expenses for care of dependents while you're at work.
Eligible faculty and employees can choose among a variety of health insurance plans, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
MIT provides basic life insurance free of charge, but you have the option to increase the amount of that plan through our Supplemental Life Insurance. You can also add Dependent Life Insurance for your spouse or equivalent and dependent children.
