Welcome to TCC Westgate

TCC Westgate is a small child care cooperative offering preschool services to children who are 33 months and older by September of the enrolling year and whose parents volunteer to work side by side with our teachers and support operations. The community at our center is close-knit, friendly, and international; we have a multilingual approach, teaching the children in both English and their own languages. As teachers, we focus on and work with the strengths of each individual child to help the child develop and grow.

We are located on the MIT campus in a residential building. The floor-to-ceiling windows in our classroom bring us an abundance of natural light, and we have an extensive playground outside.

Our emergent curriculum is developmentally appropriate, and grows with the children. Parents and family members volunteer for either four hours per week or per month to offset tuition costs. Parents receive 16 hours of training as preparation to be classroom volunteers and then begin assisting our teachers. Other parent volunteer activities include providing assistance with accounting, maintenance, cooking, cleaning, and more.

TCC Westgate is age-eligible for National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is working toward this goal.
