More about Human Resources
The mission of the Human Resources Department is to advance a vibrant and diverse work community where individuals thrive and contribute to MIT's excellence.
Our initiatives help create an environment where employees, faculty, students, and visitors are treated with dignity and respect. Fairness, individual development and recognition, teamwork, support for family and community -- all are hallmarks of MIT's workplace. We are committed to delivering programs and services that enhance the organization's culture and make MIT an employer of choice.
Specifically, we provide recruitment and training services and administer compensation and benefits for the Institute. We assist other departments in meeting their staffing goals, managing job performance, and interpreting policy. We also support employees and their supervisors in reconciling differences and reaching consensus in the promotion of effective working relationships.

Employment and Income Verification
MIT employees and outside verifiers can find out how to request verification of employment and/or income by visiting this HR/Payroll site.
Where is my W2?
For current employees, the 2016 MIT electronic Form W-2 (eW-2) and instructions are available online through Atlas. (Select W-2s under About Me > Money Matters.)
You can view, print, and save a copy of your eW-2 in PDF format. An MIT web certificate is required to access Atlas. If needed, you may update your certificate online. Home computers may be more likely to have expired certificates. If you encounter any issues with accessing your W2 from your home computer, we recommend trying it again on your work computer. For additional assistance, please contact the IS&T Service Desk (email@example.com).
Note: Only active employees and students can access eW-2s. If you terminate employment or graduate from MIT prior to January 31, 2017, a paper form will be mailed to your address on file.
If you are unable to access your eW-2 and do not receive a paper Form W-2, or if you have questions about information on your Form W-2, please contact the HR/Payroll Service Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-253-4255. Helpful reference documentation is located under "Understand Paystubs, W-2 Forms, and Other Tax Forms" on the VPF website.
